On Saturday, January 21, 2017, over 80,000 residents from Oakland and surrounding communities showed up together to march for human rights, environmental issues, civil liberties and social justice. People gathered not as victims nor as violent disrupters, but as a diverse civic army bonded by shared values and common purpose.
