Hi Friends! We've got a passionate project we are working on and would love to share with you all...
In 2011 – including the years preceding and about 5 years after, was our LEARNING phase for ASMBLY HALL. We learned who our customer was, learned about the neighborhood we opened in, learned about the type of product to carry and in-store experiences our customers gravitated towards. To be honest, we’re still learning – everyday is a new day.
Between 2016 and 2018 was our EARNING phase – we got over the 3 and 5 year hump, the additional income from the shop would be split between savings for Harlow and her education, new inventory and eventually, with the help of you all, our second store Asmbly Hall - Divisadero St.
2019 and beyond is our SERVING phase. We want to take everything we’ve LEARNED, what we’ve EARNED, and SERVE those who are looking to make a change in their community.
ASMBLY HALL, along with Filipino-owned businesses Arkipelago Books and Straight Up Bar+Beverage, as well as the crew behind UNDISCOVERED SF and Kultivate Labs, are partnering together to bring youRepublikasf– an exciting, new, innovative retail venue and experience, as well as business incubator – bringing Filipino businesses back to the SOMA Pilipinas Cultural District. In addition to the three anchor businesses listed, REPUBLIKA SF will also house four rotating pop-up businesses. Our mission and goal is to offer a platform in which we can help guide, refine, as well as provide the tools and confidence to help those pop-ups flourish into their own brick-and-mortar or online service.
However, we cannot do this alone, and we are reaching out to you - our community, our network - for your assistance. We would like to ask you to be a part of history and help the collective launch REPUBLIKA SF. Any donation counts, and there are rewards for every level of donation. Please visit republikasf.com for additional information on the space and the cause. Also, please watch the video below for an intimate look into the ‘Who, What, When, Where and Why’ that is REPUBLIKA SF.
We’ve got a few days to reach our goal, and I know those down with the community and culture will help us get there.
An investment in REPUBLIKA SF is an investment in the current and future generations of entrepreneurs, artists and activists, as well as a Thank You to the previous generations that paved the way for us to take risks, dare to dream and color outside the lines. Thank you all for your continued and future support!
Another successful Fillmore Jazzfest Celebration in the books!
Our 8th Jazzfest for ASMBLY HALL on Fillmore Street, and our favorite event of the year hanging out with friends, family and awesome customers who always make it a point to stop by and say HI during the best street festival in all of SF!
In addition to the amazing music, good food and wonderful customers, one of our favorite Fillmore Street Jazz Festival highlights from this year was a surprise visit from our esteemed Mayor of San Francisco, Mayor London Breed! Homegrown from right here in the ‘Moe!

Even Harlow couldn't get enough of all of the festival eats and festivities!
