SPRING FLING WINDOW BLOOMS...

We are so excited that Spring has finally arrived up here in the Bay and the weather has taken a turn for the best these past few weeks. And what better way to showcase our love for this beautiful warm weather than through our visual and window displays here at the shop!

Our very own Sophisticated Prepster Robin David, aka Robin Birdd, recently installed our new Spring window display for the shop. Robin is an installation/ paper based artist from the Bay Area who is interested in transforming spaces. She is a recent graduate from San Francisco State’s Studio Art program with her last duo show exhibition at the Luggage Gallery in San Francisco in 2010. Now that school is over, other than working at the shop, her time is spent planning her next exhibition, a series of paper dresses inspired by extinct birds which will be featured at Incline Gallery in the beginning of August. More details to come on that later, but you'll def have to come out and show your support to our dear Robin..

Robin's inspiration for the windows is a mix between spring bloom with a collegiate twist, a collaboration between her personal love for paper and Asmbly Hall's ivy league sophisticated interior! Created from various recycled paper, pages from vintage books, egg cartons, yarn, cotton balls and q-tips! Yes q-tips! Paper flowers bloom from vintage books, green leaves flow in-between Staple socks and Blade + Blue ties creating a bright Spring atmosphere in the shop. You'll sure to be awed by the beauty of our window blooms...

So please come by and take a look for yourself =D

And if you're in the area tomorrow May 10th, stop on by for Fillmore Street's SPRING FLING event from 1-5pm.  There will be wine tasting, live jazz music, and a chance to win a ton of raffle prizes and gift certificates from local Fillmore St merchants. Yours truly will be hosting Dogwood Cellars and raffling off a $50 gift certificate.

See you then!
